40 Things You Can Do With Your Mouth

(Besides Eating or Sex)

  1. Put your fist in it (very impressive party trick).
  2. Bare your teeth to intimidate animals.
  3. Growl.
  4. Sing (especially at stoplights).
  5. Whistle (bonus points if this causes a horse to gallop to you).
  6. Blow bubbles (with soap, or your own saliva).
  7. Play instruments (trumpet, harmonica, and kazoo are all acceptable).
  8. Lick a frozen pole to prove how tough you are.
  9. Hide small objects.
  10. Lick batteries to taste electricity (don’t try this at home).
  11. Speak.
  12. Silently mouth secret signals at people (and laugh when they butcher your message).
  13. Suck on your thumb (just not too much, because braces aren’t fun).
  14. Take a deep breath.
  15. Click at horses (or dolphins, if you can do that).
  16. Fold your tongue.
  17. Tie cherry stems in knots (if this gets you a new significant other, you’re welcome).
  18. Duckface for selfies (but then delete them, please).
  19. Smile!
  20. Make that psh psh sound to call kitties.
  21. Salivate at food (this may be involuntary).
  22. Imitate animal sounds (try your hand at a fox, koala, and Brushtail possum calls).
  23. Pray.
  24. Cast magical spells (or curses).
  25. Lick envelope seals (unless you’re on a diet - each one contains 1/10th of a calorie).
  26. Practice ventriloquy.
  27. Scream.
  28. Share a compliment.
  29. Takedown the patriarchy.
  30. Educate the masses.
  31. Share secrets (only with people you trust).
  32. Bite fingers and hands that get too close.
  33. Test your handmade soap to see if it’s set.
  34. Burp.
  35. Stand up for human rights.
  36. Breathe a sigh of relief.
  37. Blow a raspberry on a willing victim’s skin.
  38. Make aeroplane noises while feeding a small child.
  39. Perform a dramatic monologue.
  40. Voice bold possibilities, share the good you see and extend grace to uplift the world around you.
